Our children never play outside, they are safely on the couch, playing with their iPads, laptops and game computers. And if they have to go outside to go to school, they wear thick layers of bubble wrap plastic and a helmet. They are always surrounded by 6 bodyguards. They are not very happy, but hey, at least they never come home with a scratch, bump or cut... all perfect!

There's a lot of scientific research that proves that kids in the Netherlands are more independent on a younger age. This way of growing up also teaches the kids to explore, test their limits and chase their dreams. Your statement proves how narrow minded foreign people are on this point. Too bad that traveling didn't help to get a better perspective on this..
